Guernsey Finance is preparing to host its Annual Update event later this month. The event will take place from 8am-10am on 24 January 2025 at St James, where the agency will provide a progress update for 2024, share developments in chosen strategic markets, and discuss the outlook for the coming year.
Following an opening address from Chief Executive Rupert Pleasant, Guernsey Finance's international Business Development team will take to the stage to discuss the current trends and business opportunities in their respective jurisdictions. Across two panel sessions, the team will deliver business development updates, first focusing on the UK with Jo Kitcat, UK Representative, Rowan Stone, North of England Representative, and William Lewis, UK Insurance Representative. The second panel will cover the rest of the globe with Aaron Russell-Davison, Middle East Representative, Grant McLeod, South Africa Representative, and Jonny Gamble, United States Representative.
There will then be a fireside chat with the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Guernsey International Business Association (GIBA) - Paul Sykes and Jo Peacegood. The session will cover the relationship between Guernsey Finance and GIBA, including alignment with industry and strategic direction for 2025.
Finally, the event will close with concluding remarks from Guernsey Finance Chairman, and President of Guernsey’s Policy and Resources Committee Deputy Lyndon Trott.
Rupert said he was looking forward to sharing the many ways in which Guernsey Finance promoted Guernsey as a stable international finance centre in 2024.
“Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how Guernsey Finance supported the financial services industry in 2024, hear about on the ground trends and opportunities from the international business development team, and connect with other industry professionals,” he said.
“In 2025, we will continue to build on our successes in 2024, with strategic themes focusing on private capital as a force for good, enabling the new generation of wealth holders, captive insurance expertise, and Guernsey’s agility and innovative nature.”
The event is open to anyone working in Guernsey’s financial services industry. Details on registration can be found here.
